Leave it there for a week, careful of the gall bladder, then bard and roast, serve with game chips...

I once squirted an inquisitive pigeon up the arse with my windscreen washer, outside Brunel Buttery on Bristol docks one lunchtime, something which my fellow diner on that day still talks of, over 20 years later This train driver has gone one better.

Must be something about XC▸ (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) services in that part of the country... As part of the training for my current job I cab rode an XC HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) from Birmingham down to Bristol, and we had a 100 mph encounter with a pheasant somewhere in Gloucestershire. The driver barely even batted an eyelid and was rather amused when I almost jumped out of my skin. I do have a photo of the power car at Temple Meads, although it's only got a few feathers stuck to the horn grille, nothing like the whole pheasant attached to the front of that 170!
