Noticed Network Rail branded destination boards on the Down Relief platforms at West Drayton and Ealing Broadwway giving list of principal  destinations served from those platforms.

Does this mean all signs on non TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) run stations will gradually become Network Rail branded?

Does Network Rail have a corporate colour scheme for stations.

Also aren't these staions likely to be rebranded as Crossrail when it opens?

I'm confused here.  Are you sure this 'Network Rail' branding isn't actually 'National Rail'?

Paul it could well have been National Rail. I was in a train going into London and only caught a glimpse and probably misread it. Makes more sense, saves having to keep changing the sign when teh franchise changes.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying that West Drayton and Ealing Broadway are no longer run by FGW▸ (First Great Western)? FGW is a TOC is it not?

Ihrdave i wrote that when I thought it said Network Rail and Couldn't understand it either. But now Paul's pointed out it's probably National Rail it makes sense.

I know as far stations are  concerned there sems to a vry blurred line between what maintenace the TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) is responsilble for and what Network Rail.

The ones at West Drayton if I recall correctly have the old BR▸ (British Rail(ways)) double arrows logo which is now used as the National Rail symbol / logo.

Whilst NR» (Network Rail - home page) own the stations they are leased to a TOC▸ (Train Operating Company), NR only manage 18 stations Nationally

I thought it was 17 since Gatwick was transferred to Southern. Will be 18 again when Reading transfers in 2015, and likely 19 shortly after when Bristol Temple Meads also becomes the direct responsibility of Network Rail.
