1.  Hayling Island, Hampshire - old anti-aircraft artillery positions.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

I know 3. as well: are we in 'open season' now, being allowed more than one after the first 24 hours?

We're now into Tuesday, so I'll post my other bid:

3.  Melksham - Community Campus car park.  Still under construction, apparently, from all the holes in the surface and Helas fencing.

May I offer our collective thanks to grahame for his latest quiz challenge here.  I found it encouraging that there was, as ever, some friendly competition and different answers suggested for some of those locations.

Not all my pictures are at or near railways - or even buses. Here are some from various places within our main area - can you identify them?

15.

I very nearly made a public fool of myself by bidding 'Tormarton, South Gloucestershire' for that one.

Oh, hang on a minute.  Embarrassed Tongue Roll Eyes

That photo's so evocative of a particular sort of damp wet day, that light, the stone, road surface, grass, it's making my nose twitch.

Delighted that it worked ... I posted in some trepidation as to whether it might sink like a lead balloon as so many of our members don't get very far from the platforms - let alone the stations - on their travels.    In recent years, I have travelled to some of the furthest points in Europe and there's more of that to come in my current window between retirement and increasing limitations, but I wrestled with whether and how to share those experiences.
