Again, for the record:

Alterations to services at Worcester Foregate Street
 
Due to a fault with the signalling system at Worcester Foregate Street trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

Train services running through this station may be delayed by up to 25 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 15:30 10/10.

Some degree of disruption including:

11:22 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 13:44 will be terminated at Worcester Shrub Hill.

and the return 13:55 starting from WOS^» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains)

12:09 Hereford to London Paddington due 15:27 has been delayed previously and is now 40 minutes late from Worcester Shrub Hill.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.

In addition to the above, the 15:22 PAD:GMV^▸ (Great Malvern station) and 15:50 PAD:MIM were terminated at Oxford and

17:22 London Paddington to Hereford due 20:24 will be diverted between Reading and Worcester Shrub Hill.
It will no longer call at Oxford, Hanborough, Charlbury, Kingham, Moreton-in-Marsh, Honeybourne, Evesham and Pershore but will call additionally at Didcot Parkway and Swindon.
It will be delayed due to the diversion and is expected to be 23 minutes late.
This is due to a safety inspection of the track.

Onward travel from Oxford was being sourced but I don't know how quickly that was sorted as I made my own alternative arrangements.

And after some big delays this morning - both the 0528 HFD^» (Hereford - next trains):PAD & 0623 WOF:DID^▸ (Didcot Parkway) (which terminated at Oxford) over 30 minutes late off the Cotswold Line - and the total wipe-out of Friday's peak down service from Oxford, we have the first signs of another GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) autumn "service"!

The 05:28 HFD^» (Hereford - next trains):PAD^» (Paddington (London) - next trains) started this morning from WOS^» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains), and is currently around 20 minutes late and running direct from MIM to OXF^» (Oxford - next trains) to try to make up some time. It's an HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) rather than IET9.

The 05:28 HFD^» (Hereford - next trains):PAD^» (Paddington (London) - next trains) started this morning from WOS^» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains), and is currently around 20 minutes late and running direct from MIM to OXF^» (Oxford - next trains) to try to make up some time. It's an HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) rather than IET9.

Which is delaying the 07:10 MIM:PAD which is the service Charlbury and Hanborough passengers will now have to catch.

And earlier the 05:11 WOS:PAD  was cancelled due to a broken down train.


Later edit - the 07:10 MIM:PAD arrived at Hanborough 20 minutes late. Given the lateness of the decision to run the 05:28 HFD:PAD fast from MIM to Oxford, customers for the cancelled service at Hanborough were waiting for almost 40 minutes in the drizzle. At least yesterday the 07:10 was able to run ahead of the 05:28.

and consequently the 06:53 WOF:DID^▸ (Didcot Parkway) was terminated at Oxford for the second day running, arriving just over half an hour late.

The overhead wire problems at Paddington are affecting the whole GWR^▸ (Great Western Railway) network but, for the record, the impact on this morning's Cotswold Line peak is:

05:11 WOS^» (Worcester Shrub Hill - next trains):PAD^» (Paddington (London) - next trains) "was cancelled throughout due to a problem with the overhead line power collection equipment (M1)"

04:47 Hereford to London Paddington due 07:52 will be cancelled.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

05:47 London Paddington to Worcester Foregate Street due 08:15 has been cancelled.

06:19 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 08:28 will be terminated at Reading.
It will no longer call at London Paddington.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

06:42 Hereford to London Paddington due 09:46 will be terminated at Reading.
It will no longer call at London Paddington.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

06:52 London Paddington to Great Malvern due 09:37 was started from Reading.
It will no longer call at London Paddington and Slough.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.

I was a little surprised the 06:19 WOS:PAD (which I think usually starts from Hereford at 05:28) didn't stop additionally at Kingham bearing in mind the earlier cancellations.

After the earlier excitements of the week, a more regular friend appears:

15:50 London Paddington to Moreton-in-Marsh due 17:26 will be cancelled.
This is due to a fault on this train.

This is due to a fault on this train.

34th time this year this service has been cancelled in terms of Cotswold Line running and third time in six days.

Currently on the 15:32 IET^▸ (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan)) from Hereford to London. The train is only 5 carriages which is a short formation and it should be 10. I notice that the journey check is not showing this fact. It's fairly packed as a result even in 1st where people are standing in the carriage and the vestibule. Seat reservations are not working due to their only being 5 carriages and there's only one working toilet.

10 cars do not run on the Cots. If it was supposed to be a nine car then I’d find that weird for a Sunday afternoon off peak. Nevermind.
