ScotRail has announced an incredible travel deal to help families enjoy fun days out for less this summer.

The ‘Kids for a Quid’ ticket is available off-peak only, which ScotRail defines as “after 9.15am on weekdays and any time at the weekend” and means for every paying adult, up to four children can travel for just £1 return each, making exploring with the family great value for money.

I found this very interesting and was enthusing about taking the kids on an exploration.  Then I realised.  Mine are all north of 26 years old  Roll Eyes

Here in Brittany, we have essentially the same policy all year round on the trains, except that ours is that for every paying adult, up to four children under 12 years old can travel free. On the buses, for every paying adult, up to two children under 12 years old can travel free.

For 12-26 year olds, rail singles are capped at €8 for journeys under 150km, and €15 for journeys over 150km. On the buses, singles are capped at €2 for journeys under 30km, and €4 for journeys over 30km.
