One driver's turn.....

That little lot would be on more than one drivers turn….they do get a break!

More likely to be a TM (Train Manager, or Ticket Machine, or Temple Meads (Bristol), depending on context) shortage anyway, as there is difficulty covering the Reading and London crews work on the North Cotswold services due to them needing to get through to Oxford by bus/taxi.

That's where they need to add another 5car IET (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan)) at Oxford....

07:50 Paddington - Great Malvern failed at Hanborough (problems with the doors) and was cancelled thereafter.

08:15 Worcester Shrub Hill - Paddington was held at Charlbury and ran 43 late.

A freight (a rarity on this end of our line) followed the 08:15 on the single line.

08:52 Paddington - Great Malvern was held at Oxford and left 33 late.

Return workings affected - JourneyCheck reports:

Quote
10:59 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 13:24 has been reinstated.
It will be started from Oxford.
This is due to a broken down train.

11:57 Great Malvern to London Paddington due 14:22 will be started from Worcester Shrub Hill.

Looks like it'll be terminated at Ledbury, and the return working 1P04 started from there

I wonder what proportion of the trains intended to reach Hereford from Paddington ever actually arrive there?

The late departure of the 09:52 to Hereford from Paddington (+16) meant that it had to wait at Wolvercote Junction for the single line to Charlbury (+39).

In turn that meant it had to wait at Malvern Wells for the single line to Ledbury (+52).

The late departure from Paddington seems to be the result of a set swap. The 09:52 is normally a set that has come from North Pole but today it was a set that had come in from Oxford (at 09:52!).

14:30 Hereford to London Paddington due 17:22 will no longer call at Radley and Didcot Parkway.
This is due to overcrowding.
