Grampound Road would seem to be among the more unlikely candidates for a reopening but the following article reports on an aspiration to make it happen.

Grampound road would actually be a fruitful station to reopen, the villiage has grown a lot in the past ten years and would make an ideal park and ride as its near the main St Austell-Truro road.

Do you think there is a chance that FGW▸ (First Great Western) could officially back a re-opening proposal, vacman?

I expect they would back any similar project if they weren't paying for it! But please, if this does happen NO HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))'s STOPPING THERE!!!!! it's slow enough in Cornwall already!

It'd make a good park & ride stop on a Newquay-St Dennis-Burngullow Junction (west spur)-Truro-Penryn-Falmouth service. Wink
