Cancellations to services between Plymouth and Totnes
Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Plymouth and Totnes all lines are blocked.
Train services running through these stations will be cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer Advice
Due to flooding at South Brent all lines between Plymouth and Totnes will be closed.

Services will run between Penzance and Plymouth, limited services will run between Exeter St Davids and Totnes.
-
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
-
It is recommended that passengers do not attempt to make rail journeys until this situation has been resolved.
-
Please note there will be no Rail replacement buses.

Cancellations to services between Totnes and Plymouth
Due to heavy rain flooding the railway between Totnes and Plymouth some lines are blocked.
Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer Advice
Due to flood warnings at Brent Mill Viaduct, cancellations; alterations and delays may interrupt your journey between Totnes to Plymouth today. Our sincere apologies for any delays to your journey.

Passengers who require Ivybridge should alight at Plymouth. Speak to station staff for road transport towards Ivybridge.

If you arrive at your destination 15 or more minutes late because your GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) train was delayed or cancelled, you can claim Delay Repay compensation.

CrossCountry are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

An update will follow within the next 2 hours.
Customers are requested to check the stations Onward Travel Information poster and wait for replacement road transport at the designated stop. Customers are advised that the replacement road transport may run later than the advertised train times owing to the additional time taken by road between stations and the time required for loading and unloading at each stop.

1Z39 0620 Plymouth to Bristol Temple Meads went through Totnes with a N/R showing on RTT» (Real Time Trains - website), but is now 74 minutes late at Newton.
1A73 0503 Penzance to London Paddington seems to be at Totnes platform 1 but on RTT is 52 late passing Rattery.  Not sure how it ended up on platform 1.
1A76 0605 Penzance to London Paddington has just left Plymouth on time.

There is single line working on the Down line between Aish (to the west of Ivybridge) and Totnes.  It’s complicated by the fact the points at Aish are not powered so need a ground frame operator. 

Allows two trains an hour in each direction.

Brent Mill viaduct needs examining by a diver to check whether there’s any damage to the structure. 

Water is to fast flowing for the diver to enter which is why there has been single line working all day.

Possibly as the downstream / Down line side of this viaduct has been reassessed to prevent a total line closure (as done twice in last year) and is not subject to scour in the river bed.
The greater force of water is normally on the upstream side of a bridge.

Looks as if 2C07 0727 Exeter St Davids to Penzance went through OK.
Wonder if lifejackets were issued on boarding (just in case)!
