Cancellations to services between Truro and Falmouth Docks Due to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time between Truro and Falmouth Docks fewer trains are able to run. Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled. Disruption is expected until the end of the day. Customer Advice - What has happened? - One of the trains that operates the Truro to Falmouth Docks service has developed a fault that needs mechanical attention. We do have another train that is operating the service, which means we can only operate half of the service for the rest of today. If you are wanting to travel to Falmouth, please check your journey and if there is not a service, we recommend take a local bus, where your ticket can be used at no extra cost.

175003 has been entrusted with Newquay today. It is the most reliable train.
On Thursday it completed its full passenger diagram starting at 0655 Exeter and finishing there at 2237. Also running backwards and forwards between Exeter and Plymouth was 175006+175115 completing 500 miles with no incidents. It wasn't in passenger service just mileage accumulation.
At Exeter it coupled up with 175003 in a 2+3+2 and returned to Laira as 5P28. The first 7 car formation.
It was planned to repeat it on Friday but cancelled due to staff shortages.

Should be. Two 175s out today 002 started it's mileage accumulation doing Exeter-Paignton-Exeter then ended up in Exeter depot. 113 is doing mileage accumulation between Plymouth and Penzance. There is still one 2 car and eight 3 car at Wolverton that when they arrive at Laira will be service ready according to Mark Hopgood. Nothing has come out of Wolverton since the 23 June.

From the BBC» Campaigners say the cancellation of five weekday services between Penzance in Cornwall and Plymouth or Exeter in Devon has been "the least bad choice" for operator GWR▸ to get on top of reliability problems with its newer Class 175 fleet locally.
Roger Blake, national director at campaigning group Railfuture, said temporary cancellations from Monday were "an unfortunate step back in order to then, we hope, take a couple of steps forward".
The trains, previously been used by Transport for Wales, were in storage for two years before GWR started using them in May.
Timetable changes were scheduled to run until 11 December, but GWR said it hoped to bring the trains back before that if possible. Agreed that it's probably the least bad choice in the short term. But it feel like (another?) case of over-optimism that has gone wrong, with the old trains withdrawn before the "new" ones are working properly. And/or a case of taking on an increased service before properly prepared for it - it wasn't so many years ago that the Cornish Main Line had hour gaps anyway. The word "hope" is used twice. Nice stuff is hope. I hope it happens

The subject line is "delays" but this is more fully fledged cancellations ... not enough working trains ... samples which indicate at least 4 trains short. 09:01 Severn Beach to Bristol Temple Meads due 09:45 09:01 Severn Beach to Bristol Temple Meads due 09:45 will be cancelled. Well, it’ll no longer be First Group’s problem (from 13th December) - the GWR brand will carry on for a little while at least, and it’ll be the pretty much the same group of people trying to address the problem. Most importantly, the average passenger won’t know/care about the changes in December anyway.
