Third time lucky tomorrow.
I’d have thought the temperatures tomorrow might well scupper that.

...so does RMT▸ think that class 175s are animate objects that will be shamed into behaving properly and starting to work under the threat of strike action? Unless they know how to fix them and can demonstrate that the powers that be are not taking the required action, what is the point?

From another forum re: 175s
You will never get them to work properly on the GWR▸ . A good friend of mine worked on them in all over Wales in the last couple of years there before they were put into hibernation for two years plus. They were all on their last legs then and all need new computers in them. All sent to GWR with very little thought of need maintenance, just move then on and repair them as a when. No wonder their reliability is rubbish. But the new ones on the Welsh network seen Ok he says. They certainly don’t want them back.

This class 180 video will probably be useful. Once you've attempted to restart engines locally on your way to the front, don't forget the WD40 for the cab door: https://youtu.be/86oqnk--X_A?t=244

Apparently 175s cannot operate in the dark anymore. You couldn't make it up.
Today 2C05 0655 Exeter- Penzance was operated by 166207 to Plymouth then 175006 took over the diagram.
Yesterday the diagram 2E28 1915 Penzance- Exeter was cancelled from Par; getting dark. There is a real contempt for passengers in the southwest as that is the connecting train at Exeter for the last Bristol
The same tonight???

Something union related to do with the illumination (or non illumination) of the AWS▸ sunflower in the cab. Train's have operated with non-illuminated sunflowers for many years, but new/refurbished stock are generally installed with, or modified to be, illuminated. So perhaps the union are demanding parity with other stock operates on the route for 'safety reasons'?

You would think they would also have an audible system as well just in case the driver was looking out the window at the track ahead. Oh they do.

2Z28 arrived at Exeter and they didn't hold 2M77 the Bristol connection 10 minutes and it went 1/2 minute early.

Looks unfortunate - as I read it, that's the last train east from Exeter St David's? Wouldn't have happened in the days that the services were through al the way from Penzance to Bristol, but then in those days the performance figures for Bristol would have ended up worse with a late arrival.
