Last night I watched the first episode of "Nightsleeper", set on a train from Glasgow to London, with a government agency intervening in escalating events onboard and two strangers working together to save passengers as the train hurtles towards disaster. The reviews have not been good. IMBD |

Either a lot of money or someone's career has been invested in this; I can't seem to escape the trailers on TV▸ or radio, and thanks to I-Player they don't even stop trailing once it's been broadcast. Oddly (to me at least), the first two episodes were shown on consecutive nights but it now seems to have stopped until next week. I've decided it wouldn't be wise for me to watch it as my wife would start throwing things at me when I pointed out the - apparently numerous - plot holes. Give me The Taking of Pelham 123 (the original, not the remake) any day for its accurate portrayal of a railway control room.

Mostly enjoyable (as drama's go)- we've seen all 6 episodes.
Good and not so good things though out.
Won't comment either way on the final ten minutes in episode 6.

Check the credits - a certain Gareth Dennis was a consultant, so there shouldn't be very many plot-holes....errr, yes, there are.

Just watched the second episode, though there were several times during it when I wondered why.
At least one "plot hole" as perceived by some critics was explained: the train was bi-mode, so cutting off the electric power wouldn't have stopped it. But it seemed to take a long time for anyone to realise that, on a train speeding out of control, it might be a good idea for everyone to get as far back as possible.
Very few of the characters appeal: "Billy McCloud" (the on-train crew member), "Tobi McKnight" (the young geek at the cyber-security agency), "Aaron Moy" (the retired geek brought back to help) and "Fraser Warren" (the obdurate retired driver). Many of the others were irritating, and the wide-eyed reactions of the two leads quickly palled.
Another four episodes ... I'm wondering whether to bother ...

Watched it all on iPlayer, sadly what started out as a half decent story just got worse and worse and more unbelievable each episode
I wonder if it was originally done to be 12 x 30 minute episodes as there is a kind of cliff hanger at around 32 minutes in every episode
It is almost like the writers got bored as it gets worse the more it progresses, and as for the final scenes, there are so many things wrong with it is is laughable
