Green light has been given to upgrade the relief lines between Severn tunnel junction and Cardiff Central allowing linespeeds to be raided to 90mph.

6 new stations including Magor will be constructed with the first due to open in 2027 the last in 2030.

TFW did propose running up to 2tph stopping services between Cardiff and Bristol Temple Meads.

TFW did want to run it using more additional class 756s.even if Filton Bank is fully wired could a temporary idea be to run 756s on batteries between Patchway and Bristol TM (Train Manager, or possibly Ticket Machine, depending on context)

By my reading it's still more a shopping list than a request for tender, but happy to be proved wrong.

Two new stations a year is a pretty ambitious plan - perhaps WECA» (West of England Combined Authority - about) might be able to organised electrification of Filton to Temple Meads to enable electric through services?

- perhaps WECA» (West of England Combined Authority - about) might be able to organised electrification of Filton to Temple Meads to enable electric through services?

This was a stated ambition from the WECA mayor but since being told by Labour head office that he can no longer seek re-election next year due to becoming an MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context), his focus may now have shifted elsewhere with this policy getting quietly dropped.
