Rows 1 to 5, columns A to E.   Maximum 2 each please (today) 2nd December as there's an awful lot of these!  If you're on a small screen, all the images unfolded are at https://www.wellho.info/pix/wq00.jpg

Row 2, column C: Richard Trevithick (13 April 1771 – 22 April 1833)  Wink

There are several others there who I sussed out straight away, but I'll give everyone else a chance first.  Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Row 1, column 5: our very own Mark Hopwood if I'm not very much mistaken.  His face is fresh in my memory from watching Geoff Marshall's recent YouTube video of the Marlow branch starring Geoff, Mark and the branch's signalling technology.

I have set myself a real challenge in umpiring the answers here, haven't I?

Here is the original graphic with a green dot added on each correctly identified so far to help you check whether a person has been identified; full listing to follow at the end?

Oh, there seems to be a different layout on my smartphone screen.  Mark H is in a row on his own.

Sir Nigel is just to the left of Trevithick

Ah - screen width and you are correct then.  See https://www.wellho.info/pix/wq00.jpg for the alternative smartphone layout.
