This is due to a points failure.
Will be formed of 5 coaches.

Later (17:00) : The 11:52 was indeed started from Reading (+27).  It was held at Wolvercote (+37) and Evesham (+59). It arrived Shrub Hill +59 and was cancelled therafter.

This is due to the emergency services dealing with an incident earlier today.

Striking disparity between the excuses

Yesterday (Thursday June 12), the afternoon halts train from Didcot to Evesham was cancelled after Oxford.

JourneyCheck had this as being due to "to more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time".

RTT^» (Real Time Trains - website) has it as "This service was cancelled between Oxford and Evesham due to the planned train being replaced with a slower train (MS)".

The afternoon halts train isn't even getting as far as Oxford today:

and yesterday, despite telling passengers the halts service would not go beyond Oxford, JourneyCheck didn't report any issues with the return run from Evesham!

And after a good day yesterday, today there has been a signal failure between Swindon and Gloucester.

In a very sensible move

07:25 Worcester Shrub Hill to London Paddington due 09:59 will be diverted between Worcester Shrub Hill and Didcot Parkway.
It will no longer call at Ashchurch For Tewkesbury, Cheltenham Spa, Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud, Kemble and Swindon.
This is due to a fault with the signalling system.

Meanwhile, the failure affected the 08:18 Shrub Hill - Paddington.
The incoming stock, train 1G01 0632 Swindon to Shrub Hill was caught up in this. It arrived Stroud +70 and Cheltenham Spa +87 and was cancelled thereafter.
