The problems at Oxford have finally made it onto JourneyCheck

Quote
Due to a fault with the signalling system at Oxford fewer trains are able to run on some lines. Disruption is expected until 18:00 18/06.
Train services between Oxford and Didcot Parkway may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

Customer Advice
Apologies for the disruption to your journey today.

Network Rail advise that an axle counter has failed at Oxford Station, this is a part of the signalling system identifying where trains are located. Unfortunately this means that Platform 4 at Oxford cannot be used. Network Rail colleagues are on site investigating the failure.

Fourth day running the halts train hasn't served the north Cotswolds. And the following 16:58 Paddington to Great Malvern service which is scheduled to cover these stations has been sitting at Portobello Junction since 17:01 (is now 17:46) due to a trackside fire - and [edit] has just moved after a delay of 46 minutes

Alterations to services between Oxford and Didcot Parkway
Due to a safety inspection of the track earlier today between Oxford and Didcot Parkway all lines will be blocked.
Train services running through these stations will be delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 12:00 23/06.
Customer Advice
During a routine examination of the route between Oxford and Didcot Parkway a tree has been identified as needing to be felled.

It is therefore intended to close the line between Oxford and Didcot Parkway for around 45 minutes from 11:00. Individual train services will either be cancelled or held back until the line is reopened.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sardines, anyone?

No reason for the substitution supplied.  The appeal to allow those most in need the use of available seats is something I'd not noticed before on JourneyCheck
