I saw Hannah and Claire, Karen and Dave, Rebecca and Madeline yesterday, though I did not travel with them. Who or what are they, and why are they relevant on a transport forum?

Pullman coaches comes to mind.
Oriental Express ones on a UK (United Kingdom) run somewhere?

Then again, possibly camping coaches, but there's five of them, and usually there's only one or two together.
