As of the 18th May we now have through fares routed via Oxford Parkway to Chiltern line stations.

This has reduced the Pershore to High Wycombe Off Peak day return cost from £121.60 for the Any permitted off peak which includes a+ for via London to £38.80 for an Off peak day return via Oxford Parkway.

It’s about time fares managers were tasked well in advance to determine the impact of new routes, and setup necessary fares prior to opening.

What are the odds they’ll be taken completely by surprise by EWR (East West Railway (Oxford to Bedford), or possibly East Worthing station, depending on context)’s opening, there’ll be a significant number of obvious new routes become available.

Didn’t some journeys around the same area, eg from South of Oxford, generate a route via Banbury rather than Oxford Parkway?
