From my (!) outbox ... and I will follow up here with updates

Quote
Ladies and Gentlemen,

The Melksham Transport User Group Committee Meeting has been in my diary since - well - all year(!)  for next Thursday - that’s 18th September.    However, it’s clashing the Melksham and District Historical Association meeting - open to the public - and that will be a popular evening and judging by the subject there will be a heavy overlap.

I am proposing to postpone the MTUG» (Melksham Transport User Group - site) committee by a week - to 25th September, and to have that set up online as well as in person to maximise the people who can attend.   Although we start at 18:30 and MDHA start an hour later, I don’t feel that 45 minutes is enough for.all the business we have, and I know that a number of us (myself included) would regret that loss on networking opportunities (a.k.a meeting old friends and making new ones) that the Historical group arrival half hour might bring).

So

*  I will be around (at our place where we meet in the cottage room) from around 18:00 until around 18:45 on 18th,

* MTUG Committee level meeting, 18:30 (arrive from 18:00) on 25th September 2025 - also on Zoom, and with a running time expected of perhaps 2 hours.    Agenda for 25th September  to include

1. Welcome and introductions of those present

2. Apologies for absence

3. Updates on current status
- bus services, train services
- train and bus stops, information, access
- other moving around including taxi, walking, cycling, mobility, and private car
- policy work - the official and unofficial frameworks and partnering groups and bodies

4. Diary ahead - public meetings to note
((17th September - WWRUG» (West Wiltshire Rail Users Group - about)))
30th September - MEG
9th October- MTUG is in my diary (t..b.a. on 25th)
24th October - TWSW» (TravelWatch SouthWest - website)

5. Looking ahead at what’s coming up and what the group should be doing (This is the biggie!).
a. Short Term - Christmas Lights event, Newsletter, Public meeting, Staiton and Stop adoption
b. Liaison with other groups, including official bodies and industry
c. Our own arrangements such as organisational, dates for 2026
d. Communications - between ourselves, with transport users and wider publicity
d. Medium and longer term - our areas, strategies and when public transport heads

6. Any other Business

7. Date of next meeting

Graham

===

All welcome - though this is a deeper committee level meeting.  In person at 48, Spa Road, SN12 7NY - where (sshhh) there is plenty of parking or (and it’s second best with out setup) via Zoom [Zoom link redacted from public post - please ask]

Bcc: MTUG Membership list, plus new reps, etc, added.

Graham Ellis
