Piccadilly Line was already shut owing to Engineering Work.

With no trains to Heathrow, it was Circle/District to Hammersmith & a bus this morning - or out from Waterloo to somewhere with a bus connection.

Don't panic: it will all go so much smoother when we have civil servants doing it.  Wink Cheesy Grin

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

........and also the second one of the day a little further West in the Thames Valley.....I guess now it's a little warmer we have to expect the infrastructure/service to start melting down.......literally as well as figuratively

Still, cracking BBQ weather! Just in time for the Bank Holiday weekend!

Still, we haven’t got long to wait and it’ll be nationalised and all the infrastructure faults will magically disappear overnight!

Isn't the infrastructure in public ownership already?

Seems to apply to the majority of the London - Didcot services today

09:08 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway due 10:22
09:08 London Paddington to Didcot Parkway due 10:22 will no longer call at Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford.

This is due to a speed restriction because of high track temperatures.

To avoid using the crossovers at Dolphin Junction and Stockley Bridge.  They are pretty much the only trains that use them and they are a higher risk point of failure during a heat wave, and if they stay set to the straight ahead route they can’t fail.

Yes,  but many people don’t realise that!  Many still think all the failings of the railway are down to the private companies….. and the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) don’t want to change that thinking!

Previously, any franchised operator had to display its owning company, be it First, Stagecoach etc pretty much from day one.  The nationalised operations don’t.  I wonder why?!
