AFAICS▸ ('as far as I can see') from Open Train Times, the stationary 1J93 18:08 Paddington to Frome has been blocking the DM▸ (Dilton Marsh (more correctly DMH▸ (Dilton Marsh Halt)), or a Direct Message (a personal message ('pm') sent from one member to another on the forum), or Down Main (railway track), depending on context) at Twyford for over 20 minutes with a queue of trains behind it.

EDIT: now moving with 28 minutes delay and with three other trains closely following behind.

It was, down to one Oxford - London service per hour which was usually running late and no stopping services all day between Didcot and Oxford.

Hmmmm, not just “delayed” though.  A significant number of GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) services are cancelled and all Elizabeth Line trains are cancelled.

Yep, I gave up earlier as everything was cancelled. GWR have been pointing people at the Elizabeth Line throughout  despite this.

GWR Journeycheck now saying "disruption" until 1000, National Rail (far more reliable in my experience) have this on their website......

Route(s) affected
Elizabeth line between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminal 4 / Maidenhead / Reading, and also between Shenfield and Heathrow Terminal 5

All Great Western Railway routes to / from London Paddington

Heathrow Express between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminal 5

Description
A fault with the signalling system between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading means some lines are blocked. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 14:00.

Elizabeth line customer advice:

Customers from Ealing Broadway / Southall travelling to Slough / Maidenhead / Reading are advised to change at Hayes & Harlington for the next service.

Delays to services at Didcot Parkway

Due to a points failure at Didcot Parkway some lines are blocked.
Train services running through this station may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 17:15 12/08.

Customer Advice

What has happened?

There has been a points failure in the Didcot Parkway area. A points failure is a fault with the movable pieces of track that enable trains to change tracks. This affects trains accessing Didcot Parkway from Oxford.

A genuine question: where does this come back to bite GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) ?

- Shutting down the Didcot stoppers so that Twyford and Maidenhead passengers can only use Elizabeth Line services seems like a win/win as the services run with greater capacity and no pesky stops.
- Delay/Repay can’t be applied to cancelled services because ‘you can just take the Elizabeth Line’, whether that is true or not.
- the season ticket revenue is already banked
