Just to show this is not at all a local speciality - and it is still August, after all - gare Montparnasse was shot down for most of today by an electricity supply fault in a control room. This happened at 10:30, and at 14:00 it was announced that the fault had been found and recovery started. But from when trains started running at 15:00 there were delays of several hours.

So was that good to get out of the way before the last big end-of-holidays weekend, or was the system just getting in practice?
