Quote
Regretfully limited train crew are available in some Cornish regions today ...

Why?

If it relates to a contagious infection laying large numbers of staff low, totally understandable and accepted.  I just hope those staff have not been in contact with customers in recent days to spend the infection to the wider travelling public, and would wish them all the very best for. speedy and full recovery.

Please, GWR▸ (Great Western Railway), if you are reading this, tell us why!

Cancellations to services between Newbury and Bedwyn

Due to a shortage of train crew between Newbury and Bedwyn fewer trains are able to run on all lines.

Train services running through these stations may be cancelled. Disruption is expected until 22:00 14/09.

All cancelled (one or two in part) due to crew shortage with more being added to the list it would seem - why the crew shortage on a Friday/Saturday?

Some of these look to be on the Devon/Cornwall routes which have already been slashed back due to the hopeless situation with the 175s

Would staff be looking to use uo their holidays before the end of the year and while it's still nice?  Are a lot staff PSPS▸ (Paddle Steamer Preservation Society) members off on their annual excursion?

Final public warning to TG▸ (TaplowGreen - a respected member of this forum - or, possibly, a train cancellation code ("cancelled due to an issue with the train crew"), depending on context) for mentioning BBQ.  Roll Eyes

Meanwhile, I have added 'PSPS' to our 'abbreviations & acronyms' page.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
