Let's hope the operator - who isn't Gatwick Airport - was insured - otherwise 140 owners might be looking for them on their return Shocked Shocked

Trustpilot reviews. People of a nervous disposition may prefer not to read them.

The site's buried in a clearing in a laurel-infested wood east of Crawley - for good measure quite close to the old Crawley - East Grinstead line and with a high voltage electricity line carried on transmission towers.

Caveat emptor and all that but even so...

Are the airport authorities a bit complacent about this, seeing that their premises has hosted one end of this operation for at least three years? For a start could they work to expel any operation that's not Parkmark-accredited?

At least it's only at one airport - Gatwick - and other other airports don't see criminal behaviour in connection with parking services.

Not so sure, Mark - I have seen negative comment about some of the lower cost parking offers at Bristol Airport, for example, though I am not in a position to say whether that extends to "criminal behaviour" issues.   We have some issues in this country with security of transport vehicles left unattended - I can pick up a number of heritage railways subjected to mindless vandalism, a bus depot or two, and tagging of vehicles that are parked up.   That is not to suggest any criminal behaviour from operators / rather than they may have priced their offering down so that they don't always provide robust protection against it.

OK, I was being a bit tongue in cheek there. Online reviews don't provide so much security here as a rogue operator can and does quickly change the name of the business. A simple message that airports could put out to travellers is 'If you book parking, ensure the operator has signed up to Parkmark'. Perhaps they do. Be good if there was a way to require price comparison websites to provide that information but I really am being a sweet summer child on that front...

SES Water said that it located a burst main in Horley, with parts of the airport left without water as a result.

A spokesperson for the airport confirmed that the issue had affected water supply in both terminals and was under investigation by SES Water. The water company said it had begun to restore supply.

Flights remained unaffected by the disruption, the airport added.
