From The BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page)

Quote
Donald Trump secretly swapped planes as he left a Nato summit in Turkey last month, as part of an elaborate ruse in response to a possible Iranian threat, US media report.

The US president boarded Air Force One in view of television cameras before being transported to a military aircraft with the help of a catering truck, the Washington Post said. Journalists and some White House staff on board did not know he had been smuggled out.

Officials told the BBC's US partner CBS News that the US had detected a credible Iranian threat to fire a missile at the plane. The White House has not confirmed the secret switch.

Trump had earlier said he was Iran's "number one target" during the summit in Ankara.

If you are travelling and there is a security / safety issue with your transport, should you be informed?
How about just telling the VIPs as the rest are expendable?

Having assassinated the previous set or leaders of Iran, in my view Donald Trump has made himself a target in the other direction with the same legitimacy as his actions that lead to the death of those Iranian leaders.  Put it another way "he has only himself of blame.  These are personal views only.

So it appears to have been OK to send the original aircraft on its way full of media personnel and many white house staff when there was a possibility that it could have been a terrorist target.   What a brave man Trump is !!

Likely not his choice but done at the request of the secret service. Not the first time the president has used a decoy plane, Clinton flew into Pakistan on a C-20C whilst the VC-25A flew in as well.

Perhaps Trump should have stayed in America, in a deep bomb  resistant shelter, with plenty of guns.

A proper intercity train has a minimum of 8 coaches, gangwayed throughout, with first at one end, and a full sized buffet car between first and standard.
It has space for cycles, surfboards, luggage etc.
A 5 car DMU▸ (Diesel Multiple Unit) is not a proper inter-city train. The 5+5 and 9 car DMUs are almost as bad.

Isn't that what he is trying to build under his "beautiful, beautiful ballroom" ?

A sort of Führerbunker for Donald Trump, then?

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Yes, but I presume that he has an older bomb proof that could still be used.
