From the FGW▸ (First Great Western) Website:

Train services between Reading and Westbury are being disrupted due to a landslip.Engineers are working as fast as possible to restore services to normal. Short notice alterations, cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes can be expected.

Trains to the West of England are unable to call at Westbury and will call additionally at Frome. Alternative transport will be available from Frome. Initial estimate of approximately four days may be required to repair the damage. Train services from Westbury to Bath Spa and the South coast are unaffected by this problem.

And one hopes to Frome as well, for the Westbury / Wiltshire to The West traffic.  Wink Cheesy Grin

I'm guessing this will mean that Westbury to Taunton / Exeter passengers will need to leave Westbury earlier ... I can't see the 125 being held at Frome until a bus with a normal departure time from Westbury gets there.

Initial estimate of approximately three days from Monday 26 January may be required to repair the damage. Train services from Westbury to London Paddington, Bath Spa, Weymouth, Portsmouth Harbour and Brighton are unaffected by this problem. CrossCountry are accepting First Great Western tickets between Bristol Temple Meads and Exeter St Davids. South West Trains are accepting First Great Western tickets between Salisbury and Exeter St Davids.

I'm puzzled where is the landslip?

The only place I can think of is between Heywood Road Junction and Westbury Station.

Correct. Up trains are unaffected (towards London)

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Worth pointing at that as of about 16:00 trains calling at Westbury as normal.
