With the failure of 0906 Pad Ply due to Hox Axle Box:

1A85 1255 Plymouth Paddington was formed:
Plymouth - Exeter 153373. (Totnes and Newton Abbot calls canned presumably due to it being packed)
Exeter - Taunton 153737+142068
Taunton - London Paddington normal HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) set

All in a days work!

Not an ideal situation admittedly but credit to FGW (First Great Western) staff on the ground and control for using initiative and keeping the job running rather than taking the easy way out and cancelling the whole service!

I didn't think roller bearings ran hot!

I hope it's not a fault/failure because that could trigger a spate of failures as more of the same age bearings run similar milages.

Should read hot axle box detected.

The coach was removed as it was a genuine alert.
