You're right Brucey, those vids are only available for academic access. However a bit of cross-referencing of the title on youtube brings up "The Finishing Line". There is also one I remember from my schooldays: 'Robbie'.

At primary school I remember we were all sat down in the school hall to watch Robbie's story (which coincidentally includes some of the footage from the earlier posted vids). Scared us witless as kids!

Remember it well I had a girl friend in Braintree at the time, one advantage of being a railwayman you could have girlfriends all over the place and visit them cheaply!

So my trips to Braintree were mostly to sample the grilled steak the Griddle Car produced. A real piece of steal cooked to order served in I some form of bap (which I think were new in the South at the time). Delicious. Plus the superb runs to Witham on the 309s. Braintree branch was still DMU^▸ . I have a b/w picture somewhere taken in one of intermediate cabs of the speedo rock steady on 90.

What more could a young lad want?

The thing that fascinated me was how light and airy Paddington seemed to be compared to today, it will be so good when the 4th arch opened out again

Watched Marylebone in the 1960's tonight from same source. Interestingly a big chunk of it is trains on diversion from Paddington - worth a look
