William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

the cardiff-tauton off bri at 1453 yesterday terminated at yatton due to overshoot at nailsea it was the 57s LHCS (Locomotive Hauled Coaching Stock) apparantly trainee driver was late with the brakes. didnt know if anyone mentioned it to you?

No, nobody has mentioned it to me - but I did notice a service being stopped at Yatton yesterday, from our forum's 'current running' system:

Apparently the coaching stock was having braking problems earlier in the day so that might have influenced it.

From what I read it was blamed on brakes which is why the service got terminated at Yatton.

i have also heard it was a trainee driver on the loco and that he got his braking wrong,  but that might just be rumour. Huh
