Maybe this stretch should be the "Swanline", rather than the South Wales main line locals. Grin

I must have had a sense of humour bypass because i'm not sure what part of this is funny?  Swans are protected by law, so we are not allowed to carry on our merry way and hit them.  Huh

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

.....unless the unit involved is a 142, in which case it's a write-off and the swans in question lose a feather or two. Wink

I hit two pigeons (In separate incidents) today, whilst driving a 142. The first one was bang in the middle of the windscreen at 75mph, and funnily enough, on Exminster straight. Believe me, the 142 won! I didn't half jump though! Shocked

Which is exactly why I stopped 1C04 and reported the Swan and its clutch of cygnets walking along the up line to the panel box.
