No pictures... Lets see how many of you have been paying attention to what I post... Wink Cheesy

This used to be my stomping ground on this line for 18 months... I travelled with FGW▸ (First Great Western) mostly on a ^3.30 ticket out and ^5.00 ticket return... I passed through this place around 18:25 most evenings. It's also the home of one of CfN's most famous April Fools Day jokes...!

Where am I passing through right now??

By a quite remarkable coincidence, I boarded a train at NLS▸ (Nailsea & Backwell station) this afternoon, on my way into BRI» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) - and found myself being invited to join Mookiemoo at her 'table for four'!  Shocked

To be fair, it was a table for four on a 150, not on an HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) in First Class.  Tongue

However, it did give me the opportunity to point out to her the lovely old station buildings at Flax Bourton, which were the subject of my April Fool topic, a couple of years ago, and to which 'thetrout' is referring here.  Grin

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Incidentally, Flax Bourton Station gets a mention in A lyrical memorial to some of the stations closed by 'The Beeching Report' - an archive film, first broadcast in 1963, from the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page).  Wink
