5. Basingstoke?

thats the impressive one yep

That's also the only one I know!* Spent many an hour there (well, on Platform 4 which the photo is of - not Platform 3 which it's taken from and which I've rarely used)

*Apart from Belvedere Road in SE1, obviously!  Grin

Just think, Relex - we've probably been at Basingstoke station simultaneously at some point in the last 10 years without once realising it! Ha!

Mind you, the place has definitely gone downhill since the very attractive blonde stopped working in the coffee shop on Platform 4...

Umm.... I did a dissertation back in 6th form about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. (Those were the days when research meant reading books and documents - not Wikipedia Tongue) Whilst he was busy trying to get his atmospheric railway working on the South Devon Railway he was put up by the 11th Earl of Devon, William Reginald Courtney (one of the sponsors of the SDR) at Powderham Castle. Some historical documents say that IKB (Isambard Kingdom Brunel) and his wife Mary were housed in the Belvedere folly.
