I think it is the space see in the photo below - now fill with equipment/cable runs, etc.
Original from WikiCommons.

... usually taken from the Circle Line end and may include the West bay.
And even more rarely, the space behind that bay that used to have the coal siding - heating fuel for the Metropolitan owned flats and apartments above.
Just to be clear. The photograph shows the Baker Street East Bay (No.4). The Stores Siding was off the West Bay (No.1). There was however, a short loco holding siding at the North End of the East Bay, which had a facing connection from the Southbound (Up) Loop Line. When I find my MET Signalling drawings I'll add a copy of the layout as it was in 1933.

A better picture of Moorgate, showing one of the two National / Network Rail Platforms, from a Network Rail Media Centre press release about works there next weekend.
My Dad used to work just up the road in Finsbury Square (in a "Lower Ground Floor") and walked past Moorgate (on his way up from Cannon Street) every morning - always an early started. Remembered a shaking of the ground and sound soon after starting on 28th February 1975. ( edit to add https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PKyeON-84w )

OOPS you're right. Closer look reveals the red lights i thought were a departing train are actually the buffer stops. Even rarer in pictures than the main met lines which are uusually taken from the Circle Line end and may include the West bay.

Baker Stret caught my eye, not one of the usual picture of the Circle line platforms but the West Met Line bay.
That would be platform 4, the East bay

For reference in the "Poll" thread - http://www.passenger.chat/23317 - but trying not to clutter that thread.
ONE picture of each - bit unfair trying to capture each station in a single shot ...
