Yes, the place for a stop for the number 8 to Temple Meads is on the short stretch of road that it uses to cross into Baldwin Street. It might be that to accommodate it, someone would need to alter the worlds widest pelican crossing there.

There's the College Green stop at the bottom of Park St. Still a bit of a walk to the 'Centre' bus stops, I agree. After that there's nowhere to stop on St Augustine's Parade as the bus is on to the outside 'Bus Only' lane after Denmark St for the turn into Baldwin St.

With the pedestrian and cycle infrastructure as it currently is, there's not really anywhere to put a bus stop on Baldwin St that's closer to the 'Centre'.

The number 8 bus providing the best connection between Bristol's centre and the railway station, having had the opportunity to use the service from the centre again yesterday evening (and after the previous attempt, this time being careful to check where its stops are) I'm wondering why they're so badly placed .

The number 8 stops are either way up Park Street, while the subsequent one is some distance into Baldwin Street. It's missed the opportunity to make a close connection with the host of services that call at the various stops at the centre.
