Delays to services between Castle Cary and Weymouth

Customer Advice
-

Apologies to customers travelling between Castle Cary and Weymouth today.

-

One of our drivers has reported poor railhead conditions owing to heavy Autumn leaf fall. This is causing the wheels of the train to trigger wheel slip alarms. As a result, our trains are therefore running at a reduced speed to ensure the safety of the line. Trains will therefore be subject to delays between Castle Cary and Weymouth.

For further help planning your journey you may contact one of our social media specialists via Twitter (X) handle @GWRHelp, or alternatively you may contact National Rail Enquiries on 03457 484 950. If travelling from an unstaffed station you may also trigger one of the available help-points located on platform level for further assistance. If you're travelling onboard one of our services and would like help with onward connections, you may also speak with a member of onboard crew for assistance.

When was the last time a RHTT (Rail Head Treatment Train) ran over the line? I stepped back over RTT» (Real Time Trains - website) and cannot find one. Whereas the Salisbury Exeter line has almost one every day.
