Hello.. Today I had to get from Maidenhead to Reading, Reading to London (via SWT▸ on slow Bracknell line) and then back from Paddington to Maidenhead..(all off peak)
I was hoping I could get a Reading to London (all zones) travelcard which would cover me on both lines and would cover all my journeys.. But because I wasn't starting in Reading I was advised this wasn't possible.. so I had to get single from Maidenhead to Reading and then buy and use the travelcard from there..
I understand this as I would be travelling out towards Reading as my first use of the ticket rather than the other way round but wonder if really I could have got away with using a travel card in this way without the extra Maidenhead to Reading single?
I bet if you'd have bought it, 99% of
TMs▸ and ticket inspecty people would not have batted a eye lid
But if you will ask at a ticket office.........
