From the British Transport Police press release:

Quote
Do you know these men? Police appeal for information after altercation on train ^ Newton Abbot/Torre

British Transport Police (BTP (British Transport Police)) officers are appealing for the public^s help to identify a group of men they would like to speak to in connection with an incident on board a train between Newton Abbot and Torre railway stations.

Officers have today released a CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele-Vision) image of the men they believe will have information which can assist the investigation into the incident which took place at around 8pm on Saturday, 10 December 2011.

Investigating officer, PC Mick Stupple, said: ^The victim was travelling with two of his friends between Newton Abbot and Torre stations when they became embroiled in an altercation with another group of men on board the train.

^One of the men punched the victim in the face while on the train. Both parties left the train and Torre railway station where the altercation continued and the victim was chased along the platform before being assaulted again.

^Enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible and, after viewing CCTV images, I would now like to identify and speak to the men in this photograph, as I believe they will have information which can help.^

Anyone who recognises the women is asked to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40, or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. In all calls, please quote incident reference B5/WWA of 25/01/2012.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

This topic has been moved to a secure area while I deal with a very urgent identity issue.

A couple of recent posts from this topic have been split off and moved to a secure area, while we resolve certain issues over identifying individuals in public on this forum.  I've now moved just the original post back here, as that content was already in the public domain, but I've locked the topic to avoid any public speculation.

If anyone has any information about any individual featured in this appeal, please contact me by PM or e-mail.

Thanks,

Chris from Nailsea.
