How long is shortly?

How long is shortly?

On my morning train, as we pass through West Ealing, we are told that we are shortly going to be arriving at Paddington.. This results in "the people who don't know" traipsing to the doors to stand there assuming we'll be at Paddington shortly.. And "the people who do know" sit there and smile knowingly from their seats (if they have seats that is!!)..

This morning shortly was about 20 minutes... I just wondered if anyone else had a longer shortly than that? (if that made sense?)... Shortly to me is 2 or 3 minutes...

We tend to get it either as we pass through hayes or through ealing broadway......

Depends on the TM^▸ .

The TM with the obsession about not using the toilets on the approach to paddington and who obsesses about the auto ticket machines calls it at hayes

Most call it at ealing broadway

Then theres a couple who dont call it until they can determine which platform we are in on

I have had a longer shortly than that but on a bus not a train. It was 2hours 10mins. My bus broke down at my school. We then waited for a mechanic who couldn't fix it, another bus which for some reason didn't come in the end, so we had to wait for another bus which finally turned up. I got on 3:10 and are other bus came at 5:20
