Its just some stupid nimbies  trying to get their faces in the paper in my opinion. I read in another paper that one of those compalining was a counciler ( no elections coming up soon is there?)

The line was there 1st and a statiopn in that location has been talked about for years.
There something similar when the station at Garth was opened on the Maesteg branch  many years ago and more recently when the platform extension work was going on. Strangely it all went quiet pretty quickly and I saw at least one of those who was in the paper using the train from Garth.

I wont be too surprised if there has been someone living near Melksham who has been moaning about the extra services being too noisy.

You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.  The A350 runs north from Melksham through Beanacre, and the railway runs north behind the village.   I've heard some mutterings - I think in jest - from one source there - who is probably so used to campaigning against noise and traffic at the front that (s)he automatically grumbles about noise and traffic at the back, not releasing that one train probably removes a dozen cars.   Oh - did I mention that Beanacre is an accident black spot.   Of course, such people aren't members here  Wink
