Hi

Does anyone know which coaches Virgin tend to keep unreserved on trains out of Euston.  You know, a bit like on FGW (First Great Western) its normally F/E ?

Thanks in advance

If it's a 9 coach Pendolino then Carriage E. If it's an 11 coach Pendolino then Carriages E, F and U. I'm not sure whether Voyagers have any unreserved carriages.

Thanks

I'm headed to liverpool so I assume it will be a 9 car.

I'll head to E.  The first thing I need to do though is try to predict the platform long before its announced to get a head start on the hoards.

Currently got a broken toe!  My sprinting skills are limited at the best of times and are almost non existant now!

Do you not know which train you might be travelling on?

I had to travel to Glasgow with a broken leg once, and whilst I didn't have any kind of special advance ticket, I called Virgin a day or two before hand and not only did they reserve a priority seat for me, but I got transported to my carriage on one of those electric buggies!  Grin

Whether its an 11 or 9 coach depends more on the time of day rather than the route. The 11 cars are focussed on the peak and shoulder peak services out of Euston and diagrammed around working those. Provided the set is in the correct formation the first standard class carriage you come to will be unreserved. If it's U then you know there's two more unreserved carriages further down. If it's E then it's the only one.
