Hi All,

Where can you see on an electronic display when the train has arrived at the platform the words HERE ?

What Rover ticket are you allowed to buy, where you can use the cost of a single bus journey to the station and have it taken of the cost of a Rover?

If its not that clear the signs usually advising the next train to depart 1st 2nd and 3rd to various places they sometimes scrolling rectangler boxes, these ones said 5mins etc but when the train arrived it said HERE.

The second part was something Grahame keeps asking why you cant buy a bus ticket combined with rail travel before you reach the station, its not sold on the bus but they deduct the cost of the single bus ticket you buy to get you to the station, this rover ticket allows you to do just that admit its both a rail and bus Rover

The Freedom Travelpass (a combined rail and bus product) for Bristol and surrounding areas is available to purchase on buses from some operators in the area of validity. However many other operators accept it but don't issue it.

It is valid on all the following operators in the area of validity, but only those marked with an asterisk issue it:

Abus, Bakers, Buglers, Coombs, Faresaver*, First*, Mike^s Travel, North Somerset Coaches, Shaftesbury and District, Somerbus, South Gloucestershire Council (& supported services), Wessex Connect*.

And if you board a bus in central Bristol you can't buy the weekly Freedom Travelpass, only the daily. The weekly is only sold on buses in the surrounding local authority areas. If you want a monthly then you can only buy that at a staffed railway station, as a photocard is also required.

Oh, and there are no child or railcard discounts.

So, some way to go before the product is truly integrated.

Not the one I was thinking of but that one is of interest, the one I noticed was the North Wales Rover details at

Where it states that "However a single journey bus ticket purchased on a bus to enable travel to the nearest railway station can be used as part payment for an all zones ticket".

Which goes someway to being integrated but only for the all zone ticket.

I once had a bizarre inversion of this happen to me at Temple Meads, when (inevitably) buying my ticket at the revenue protection counter:

Me: "I'd like a return from Montpelier please."
Ticket clerk: "Where to?"
Me: "Eh?"
Ticket clerk: "Where to?"
Me: "From Montpelier please."
Ticket clerk: "Where to?"
Me: "Oh, I see. Here, please."

Hi All,

Been on the Newcastle metro and cant remember seeing it but that does not mean it might not, cant comment on the light rail ( tram).

It was at Liverpool when I went out for a day the other week I noticed the signs which i thought were different to what I am use to seeing.

Ah yes, of course. I should ave had that - I've been on Merseyrail enough. I do recall thinking how strange it is that they say HERE when - half the time - the train is still not at the platform! This is especially true on the Wirral Line I believe, where there is no train present for probably more than half the time the indicators suggest! Such is the frequency at Central and others, where there are 14tph and intervals of five or less...
