Looe Valley Walk

In the next few weeks or maybe in September, I plan to do a walk In the East Looe Valley.

I plan to get the train from Liskeard to St Keyne, then walking to Causeland and Sandplace stations, however I would also like to walk down to Terras Crossing (another mile down the line). What would be the best way of getting to Terras Crossing? Would it be better to go staight down the A387? or back up the B3254 on the Western side of the valley then head south on the unclassified road, although this route is a bit longer, or is there a footpath which crosses the fields on this side of the valley, as it would be nice to get a few photos of the line near the estuary above the river.
I then plan on walking back to Sandplace then catching the train to Looe.

I wouldn't dream of walking along the A387 even at the quietest time of year (and certainly NOT during the peak summer season)    There is another route over the hills to the other side of Terras crossing which is much more pleasant (but a little bit longer  ).

Agree with the above, the main road is very dangerous to walk along even during quiet periods. But I do highly recommend the walk from St Keyne to Sandplace. If possible walk from Liskeard down to Coombe Junction and contribute to its station figures!!

Thanks for the replies. Im guessing the safest route you mean is the one from the B road on the western side of the valley near Sandplace which goes up to Treworgey heading SW wards before heading SE wards towards the crossing? Are there any paths across any of the fields, or a good vantage point across the valley looking to the estuary around the road?

Also which side of the valley between St Keyne and Causeland is a better walk? Up to Trewidland or the St Keyne side?

I've done the walk 3 times and always go on the St Keyne side via the Wishing Well.
