William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

Looks like normal train service has hopefully resumed.. Some people at FGW▸ (First Great Western) really really need to brush up on their communication skills before the next such incident..(Note this doesn't cover all FGW staff as I know some are good - Ollie for example  Smiley).. The general communication at stations last week though was non existent at best..

As I have often posted on this forum, Ollie of First Great Western is a shining example of excellent communication skills.  Wink

All was well for me this morning. Now listening to BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Radio Berkshire and the reports of traffic chaos in Reading and Henley as well as the M4 tailing back from Slough to Reading, and knowing again that train is best!  Smiley
