Yes ... a very odd looking structure in the roof of the main train shed. Doesn't look used - formerly an announcer's eerie?

It is Scarborough, yes. Different sources say it's the longest in the "country", "Europe" or "World" ... judging by its location on what I suspect is purely an excursion platform, I suspect that the proportion of time that anyone is sat on it is pretty low these days ...

Sorry - no. I suspect (judging by the guess I've seen such as this) that there might be a whole genre of stations like this, so it may be that rather a lot of places end up being suggested before the right one!

Which platform is that one on - northbound or southbound?

I must go and have a look next time I'm near there - though any changes that I make always seem to involve the northbound platform.

One each please for the first 24 hours ... I expect they'll all be gone very quickly anyway! 1. 1. Taunton?
Yes ... ... A sorta wannabe King's Cross for platform 9.75 ... Unlike Platform 9^ at KGX, all that's on the other side of that wall at Taunton is the roof of the booking office. It would appear that, judging by the increase in trolleys, when I was last in Taunton, many more people have tried to find a secret portal to a magical place.
