Metropolitain Transport Authority - 2.62 billion trips each year http://web.mta.info/mta/network.htm
"The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is North America's largest transportation network" ... but does not say "worldwide".

If Nike consider themselves a transportation company (or rather, if you consider them a transportation company, Bignosemac), they may have much higher numbers ...
