Boris J has let it be known on BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) London news that TfL» (Transport for London - about) fares for this January are being announced this Thursday - don't ATOC» (Association of Train Operating Companies see - here) usually coincide with TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) fares on the same day?

It was announced back in August what the regulated fare rise for England and Wales would be in January 2016. Government had already commited to rises of no more than RPI▸ (Revenue Protection Inspector, or Retail Price Index, depending on context) for this parliament. July's RPI figure was used, and that was 1%.

That's up to 1%.

Yes, I would agree that any TOC▸ (Train Operating Company) choosing not to use the full 1% is possibly crackers, but still....and what about any unregulated fares? Presumably they'll be announced as well.
