A friend is travelling tomorrow from Birmingham to Newton Abbot, and wants to travel on the 1317 from New Street, which appears to be an HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)). No reservations are available, so can anyone kindly advise where the unreserved seats are on a XC▸ (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) HST. Thanks.

To avoid any ambiguity -- reservations are/were available on this train but they appear to have all been taken up.

Why not do a 10 minute reservation?

Can you get these on the HSTs▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) which have manual reservations?

These HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))'s have electronic reservations unless they are not working

Not sure why reservations can't be made, just tried to make a dummy booking and it's letting me select a seat.
At present coach C only has one reserved seat in it, keep in mind that this is the coach where reservations can be made while the train is in service. Coach D is almost fully reserved with coaches E&G 2/3 reserved. Coach F is only showing around 1/3 reserved and reservations can't be made for that carriage once traditional reservations close at midnight.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
