Cardiff to Windsor advice

Hi All,

Promised to meet a friend at LEGOLAND on Tuesday, looking at trains from Cardiff to Windsor return.

Would like to have some flexibility but the price of £211.00 return from Cardiff in morning to arrive at Park about 10.00 is expensive for a day trip.

Have looked an I think this is the cheapest but your advice is welcomed

Cardiff to Swindon return 33.10

Swindon to Didcott Single 22.20
Didcot to Swindon  Single 10.00

Didcott to Windsor  return 17.30

Total £82.60

You could look at using Slough and catching the Legoland bus from the famous bus station opposite! There's a bus from Sough at 09:25 getting to Legoland at 09:56 (702 Greenline) or there's the 09:38 77 (First) and change to the 200 in Windsor. Might be expensive if you don't have an English bus pass.

By the way does anyone know a decent bus timetable website which gives you all buses between any two places without having to know who might run buses in the area.

Indeed worth a check - but PlusBus is usually limited to the built up urban area around a station.   There's a suggestion it could usefully cover country catchments too but that's something that will need to get past lots or red tape, blue tape, jobsworths and protectionists.
