Hi
Can anyone provide me with details of the new timetable for the North Downs line with the additional one train per hour from May 2017?
I'm trying to find out if this extra train will stop at Shalford as we desperately need more trains between Shalford and Guildford.
Impossible to find online. In fact, impossible to find any timetable any more even for the existing service!
Thanks,
Adrian

As we are still more than 12 weeks away from the May implementation date, amendments / changes can still be made & thus it won't be publically available yet.

The North Downs line is NOT a Community Rail line, so you've not got a formal CRP (Community Rail Partnership). If there's a line / station user group, they may well be able to give you some pointers though.  And  Wink it might not be a bad idea for a few more lines to go the community route.   But that's way beyond the answer to an individual query; it's a way of having effective user input producing effective ideas and development.

You may have seen this (or very possibly be the person who asked the question!), but the suggestion in Another Place is that 3tph may not be achieved until May 2018.

From the latest SLC (Service Level Commitment, or possibly SLC Rail (a consultancy firm), depending on context):

Quote
3.6 Shalford - Mondays to Fridays and Saturdays

(a)  Between 0630 and 2130, services from Reading shall call at hourly intervals. One interval may be extended to 1 hour 20 minutes. (b)  One service from Reading shall call after 2300. (d) Between 0630 and 2330, services to Reading shall call at hourly intervals. One interval may be extended to 1 hour 20 minutes.

Whilst this is the 'minimum' they must offer, it would be unlikely for Shalford to see much of an increase in service compared to today.

The 'extras' will be similar to or mirror the current 'faster' services between Reading and Gatwick.

The current offering is, as I read it, somewhat above the minimum with four round trips a day between Reading and  Shalford not listed in the SLC (Service Level Commitment, or possibly SLC Rail (a consultancy firm), depending on context).

Over on railforums.co.uk and under the Allocations, Diagrams and Timetable forum, there is an interesting and detailed thread about "3tph on North Downs Line".
