Bristol woman ‘puked in street’ after man wiped bogey on leg on First Bus
A woman has complained that a passenger on a First Bus in Bristol wiped a bogie on her legA woman claims she was physically sick in the street after a passenger on a First Bus wiped a bogey on her leg.
The disgruntled member of the public, named Sian, was on a bus in Bristol on Saturday when the man is said to have picked his nose and wiped its contents on her clothing.
Shocked and disgusted, she got off the bus and told First Bus she "puked in the middle of the street" in a complaint made on Twitter.
She said she wasn't sure if the incident was an accident or intentional but branded it "gross" in a series of outraged tweets.
"Some guy picked his nose next to me and left a boogie on my jeans," she wrote. "I had to get off the bus earlier because I was about to vomit."
Responding to the complaint on social media, First Bus West of England said the incident should be reported to the police as an assault.
The @FirstBSA account responded: "If you believe you have been assaulted on board one of our buses by another passenger, I would encourage you to contact @ASPolice to report the matter accordingly. We would be unable to compensate for actions of another customer. I apologise for any discomfort caused to you whilst travelling."
Sian said she would not be taking the matter any further as it was "just a boogie", instead asking for some complimentary bus tickets. Her request, however, was rejected.
The @FirstBSA account explained: "I send my apologies for the discomfort caused to you. We would not be able to offer the compensation requested."
A First Bus spokesperson added: "Without wanting to go into the veracity of the claim or trivialise a matter that was considered sufficiently upsetting to one of our passengers to contact us, our customer services team offered a possible course of action and rightfully left it at the passenger's discretion to pursue it or not."
