To me (and many others!) by email ...

Quote
Dear rail friends and politicians,

You are invited to join our FOSBR (Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways) Rally for Rail on the morning of Friday 23 June near Temple Meads station, to

Speak at our rally at 10am with a media photocall at 10.30am to demonstrate the public and political support for rail;To attend a planning meeting from 10.45am-11.45am in Brunel’s Breakout Room in the nearby Engine Shed, to plan fora united approach to the West of England Combined Authority at its meeting on the morning of Weds 28 June at BAWA Filton.

We are particularly needing people to be Station Ambassadors, particularly station campaign groups to demonstrate cross-regional support for a regional MetroWest rail system we can be proud of..

Please forward the attached invitation to anyone else you know who might be interested. The more who come to the photocall next Friday 23 June, or attend our planning meeting just afterwards, or come to the WECA» (West of England Combined Authority - about) meeting on Weds 28 June 10.30am, the more WECA will take rail as their top priority for the devolution deal.

Please read the attached invitation and the current draft of our Rail Manifesto which we will be presenting to WECA. If you cannot attend on Friday 23 June please get in touch as we are keen for as many different groups as possible to make statements to WECA.

Hope to see you at one or both of these meetings!

Well, thank you for posting that item here, grahame, as I was apparently not included on the usually very comprehensive  FoSBR» (Friends of Suburban Bristol Railways - site) mailing list, for this particular event.  Lips sealed

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.
